Jaquet Droz (1721-1790) was a Swiss watchmaker who was famous in his lifetime for making miniature automatons that performed small feats like drawing and writing. The Swatch Group purchased the Jaquet Droz business in 2000 to add to their elite watch brands stable (Breguet, Blancpain). The new models from Jaquet Droz are very nice in terms of their aesthetics and their horological attributes.
