Hamilton
is an important brand in watch history. Hamilton,
originally an American firm from Lancaster, Pennsylvania,
got its start in high precision pocket watches made
for railroad use. Prior to the advent of the quartz
watch invasion of the 1970s, Hamilton introduced
"Electronic" watches which were the precursor
technology. Hamilton cased these electronic movements
in very cool cases, many of which were asymmetrical.
Not surprisingly, these are very collectable and
important wristwatches.
Flash forward to the 1990s and 2000s and Hamilton is now a Swatch Group brand, operating out of Switzerland. Hamilton offers many styles, the two most popular of which are the Hamilton Khaki and Hamilton Jazzmaster. Hamilton watches offer a high level of quality for a low price.
