In my
view, Ebel continues to be an enigma. Ebel was sold
to the Movado group in 2004, but the watches have
not changed. First, the retail prices on Ebel watches
are not even so bad, yet the watches sell at large
discounts. The quality, particularly for their "street"
prices, is ridiculously good. Ebel uses premium
calibers, proprietary cases and bracelets, and offers
useful and fairly priced complications. The 1911
"Le Modulor" chronographs (now discontinued)
are elite watches priced like a TAG Heuer.
If Ebel can't catch a break, that's okay -- it just means we can buy their watches at fantastic prices!
