It's been a few years since Anonimo came onto the market. I underestimated the brand and the watches. I believed that Anonimo watches were a cynical hijacking of the Panerai case, Panerai style and Panerai marketing. It turns out that Anonimo watches are popular in their own right, especially amongst European watch collectors.

Anonimo was born in Florence Italy in 1997, shortly after Panerai was purchased by the Richemont Group and moved to Swizterland. Frederico Massacesi, an Italian entrepreneur, saw the opportunity to keep the Florence watchmaking tradition alive, and purchased the factory and production machinery that was, until recently, used to make pre-Richmont Panerai cases.
